Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 2026
Lyrric stores singing practice data with an anonymous app account so the app can personalize your experience, manage subscriptions, and understand product usage. Lyrric does not require your name, email address, or phone number.
What Data We Store
Lyrric stores the following information locally on your device and, for app operation and account restoration, in our backend under an anonymous app user ID:
- Vocal Range - Your detected lowest and highest comfortable singing notes
- Onboarding Answers - Your selected goals, singing situations, skill level, warm-up habits, and setup preferences
- Session History - Dates, durations, and scores of your practice sessions
- Exercise Results - Per-exercise scores to track your progress
- Preferences - Your preferred session duration
- Streak Data - Consecutive days of practice for habit tracking
- Account and Subscription State - Anonymous app user ID, onboarding completion, first open/last active timestamps, and subscription access state
This data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework on your device and Supabase for backend storage. We use RevenueCat to manage purchase and subscription status.
Microphone Usage
Lyrric requires microphone access to detect your pitch while singing. Here's how we handle audio:
- Real-time processing only - Your voice is analyzed instantly for pitch detection
- No recordings saved - Audio is processed in memory and immediately discarded
- No audio transmitted - Nothing you sing is uploaded to our servers
- Used only during exercises - The microphone is only active when you're practicing
Anonymous Analytics
Lyrric uses PostHog to understand how the app is used. This helps us improve onboarding, exercises, and features.
What is collected:
- Anonymous usage events such as session started and exercise completed
- Onboarding interaction events such as screen viewed, answer selected, and onboarding completed
- Aggregate preferences such as voice type distribution and skill level
- Basic device info automatically provided by the platform, such as OS version, app version, and locale
- Anonymous app user ID so analytics events can be connected to the matching backend profile
What is not collected:
- No personal information such as name, email, or phone number
- No audio recordings or voice data
- No user tracking or advertising identifiers
PostHog events are associated with an anonymous app user ID. This lets us understand product usage for the same anonymous app account without using your name, email, phone number, advertising identifier, or cross-app tracking.
No Third-Party Sharing
We use service providers to operate Lyrric: Supabase for anonymous profile, preference, and app state storage; PostHog for product analytics; and RevenueCat for subscription management. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Data Retention
Your local session history and progress data remain on your device indefinitely, allowing you to track improvement over time. Backend profile, preference, and subscription records are retained while your anonymous app account is active unless deletion is required by law or requested through support. You can delete the app at any time to remove local data from your device.
Children's Privacy
Lyrric does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require name, email, phone number, or account registration. Microphone use should be supervised by a parent or guardian when appropriate.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the "Last Updated" date above.
